Florence is one of the most famous cities in the world. It is known for its history, art, culture and cuisine… but not for its parking!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ‘parking issue’ remains an ongoing chapter in the history of our beautiful city, a jewel to visit but frustrating if you arrive by car or motorcycle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s why I decided to write this post. I want to share with you some essential tips to allow you to visit my city without the anxiety of fines, towing or other unpleasant surprises.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Make yourself comfortable and read carefully the information I provide you to fully enjoy Florence without a care!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking in Florence: what to know before arriving<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The historic center of Florence is a Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL) and to enter it you need a permit. To avoid paying for parking (which can be quite expensive in some cases), the smartest way is without a doubt to park outside Florence and look for free (and unattended) parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From this point of view I can provide you with two interesting solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. You can try near the stadium and the Nelson Mandela Forum, where it is possible to park for free along Viale Pasquale Paoli. From there you can then take bus 6a to easily reach the historic center.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Another possibility is to park at the tram stops. A doubly practical solution because, from there, you can take the same tram to comfortably reach the historic center.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    If these solutions do not reflect your liking, let’s move on to evaluate other solutions within the historic center, where you can find paid parking, private garages and on-street parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
