Guided tour of the Medici museum: tour of history and treasures

The seat of the Museum was designed by Brunelleschi in 1432 and remained unfinished for 500 years. It is located in the so-called Rotonda Brunelleschi, the first building with a central plan of the Italian Renaissance. It was Cosimo I who wanted to complete the building to house the first Academy of Arts and Design.

Inside there are original works of art and documents from the Medici collections. Through its rooms and the works exhibited here it will be possible to discover who were the main members of this powerful family and what contribution each of them left not only in Florence but also in Tuscany throughout the long period of their Regency.

With a professional guided tour you will be able to get closer to the history of this important Museum and the Medici Family through the legacies that are on display inside.
