Roman Florentia saw its beginnings around 59 BC. This is confirmed by its network of parallel streets in the historic center of the city that was once the Roman Castrum. The current Piazza della Repubblica – today a prestigious place for its cafés, luxurious hotels and street art – housed the Roman Forum, while the two central streets, Via Roma and Via del Corso, correspond to the  Roman Cardo and Decumanus.

Discover with my guided tour Roman Florence, its thousand-year-old streets, the Roman theater and the baths. You will see the traces of the ancient city walls and gates that once surrounded Florentia and then arrive at Ponte Vecchio which with its sparkling goldsmith shops will offer you an enchanting view of the Arno River and its surrounding landscape.
